Russell House needs trained volunteers to answer our crisis line – from the convenience of your home. You just need dedicated time (as little as 8 hours a month), phone, completed application, screening, training, and then you can become a voice of hope for victims of violence.
Step 1: Fill out an online volunteer application: https://russellhousemo.org/volunteer/ or you can print the application, fill it out, and mail it: RH PO Box 2259 Rolla, MO 65402
Step 2: Russell House reviews your application, contacts your references, and completes a background check.
Step 3: Randi, our volunteer coordinator, contacts you to make sure you both believe this is the job for you!
Step 4: You receive 48 hours of virtual training, including practice calls with one of our practiced advocates.
Step 5: Finally… you start answering the crisis line from your own phone, during a shift that is convenient for you. Brent, our magical IT Guy transfers the RH Crisis Line number to your phone, and then transfers the number from your phone to the next location once your shift is over.
If you are interested in becoming a voice of hope or learning about volunteer opportunities with Russell House, please give us a call (573-364-0579), check out our volunteer link on our website, or email Randi (firstname.lastname@example.org), she would love to talk with you.
